Goodlake Explorer Unit

We are the Explorer unit for Faringdon and the surrounding villages situated on the western fringe of the King Alfred District.

Explorers are a go-getting group of young people aged 14 to 18 years.

We usually meet in Faringdon, 7.00 pm to 9.00 pm on Mondays, during term time, but can often be found out and about across the District and beyond whatever the weather.

Explorers are very active and we are frequently camping or hiking or taking in part in other outdoor pursuits. It’s a real youth led programme and the Explorers drive what they want to do – it’s not all about badges – sometimes it’s about who does the best chips in Faringdon!

All the leaders are volunteers, and we rely upon occasional support from parents throughout the year – particularly for transport.

For further information, to join our unit, or if you would like to volunteer as an adult helper, please click Here to express your interest and we will be in touch.
