Hanney Scout Group
Due to growing demand we restarted Hanney Scout Group in February 2019; Scouting has been active in the Hanneys almost since the beginning of the movement in 1907; we have records of Hanney Scouts attending events as far back as 1910. We look set to be active for many years to come.
Scouting aims to encourage the all-round development of young people so that they can grow up to become constructive and responsible members of society. It does this by offering a progressive programme using a wide variety of activities, all based around the age and stage of development of each child. Scouts have fun and make friends!
Each Scout Section is led by a team of uniformed Leaders and helpers; all adults in Scouting are volunteers. The Group is led by the Group Scout Leader and supported by the Executive Committee, to ensure that the Group is securely funded, has the resources it needs and operates within the rules and policies of the Scout Association.
