We welcome young people from Faringdon and the surrounding small villages.

All of our sections, welcome boys and girls from age 6 to 14 and we are currently growing in numbers.

The Sections meet in term time:

Beavers (6-8 years)

  • Wednesdays 5.45pm-7pm
  • Barber Rooms, All Saints Church

Cubs (8 to 10.5 years)

  • Tuesdays 6pm-7.15pm
  • Corn Exchange

Scouts (10.5 to 14 years)

  • Tuesdays 7.15pm-9pm
  • Corn Exchange

We aim to provide a varied programme for the young people which is both fun and adventurous. We make use of the wonderful countryside to undertake many outdoor activities including camps and water based activities.

We have strong links with the local community including the emergency services, churches and with the local nursing and care homes. We take pride in supporting our local community and representing Scouting at St George’s day and Remembrance commemorations.

All sections run a waiting list. Please register via the King Alfred District Website home page – click “join today”.

We have a very active Trustee Board and dedicated fully trained leaders. We also receive immense support from our parents.

To run our sections we rely on Adult volunteers to join us. It’s a rewarding and fun filled activity which also gives you plenty of skills for Life.

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
