First Faringdon are located in the small market town of Faringdon on the western fringe of King Alfred District. We welcome young people from Faringdon and the surrounding small villages .
We have a large and enthusiastic Beaver Colony, Cub Pack and Scout troop and welcome boys and girls from age 6 to 14.
The groups meet in term time:
Beavers- Wednesdays 5.45-7pm at the Barber Rooms, All Saints Church and Blessed Hugh Church Hall
Cubs – Tuesdays 6-7.15 at the Barber Rooms, All Saints Church
Scouts – Tuesdays 7-9 at the Corn Exchange
We aim to provide a varied programme for the young people which is both fun and adventurous. We make use of the wonderful countryside to undertake many outdoor activities and we have strong links with the local community including the emergency services, churches and with the local nursing and care homes. We take pride in supporting our local community and representing Scouting at St George’s day and Remembrance commemorations.
We have a very active executive committee and dedicated leaders. We also receive immense support from our parents.
All sections run a waiting list.
