Explorer Units - Young Leaders
Some of you may be asking - "What on earth are Young Leaders?" 
In reality these are very important people, they are Explorer Scouts who have chosen to help out at the various Colonies, Packs and Troops in the District.
Because these are special people they also have a special training programme that helps them to learn the skills they need to be effective whilst having fun at the same time. There are 11 of these training modules and these are shown at the bottom of the page. In addition there are also special 'missions' that the Young Leaders take part in and these help bring together all that new knowledge in a practical way.
You have to complete Module A withing three months of becoming a Young Leader
Above to the right is the Young Leaders badge that you can wear on your uniform. There are also badges for the Missions and when you have completed all four missions and all of the modules you get a special belt buckle!
If you are helping out at a Colony, Pack or Troop and have not yet registered as a Young Leader please contact the Young Leader Unit Leader at YLESU@kascouts.org.uk
Once registered you will get reminders of when and where the training modules are being run.
The training modules are run about 5 times a year and as well as these opportunities within our own District we also have access to the modules being run by neighbouring Districts. Some Units also run these training modules as part of their own programme
